The Relix
Dripping Wet Surf Rock
From traditional sparkle to psychedelic grunge, surf rock
instrumentals are this band's addiction.
Dan Looney (guitar) grew up in a neighborhood that had three
surf bands. Dan would ride his Stingray around until he heard reverb. At that
point there was nothing left to do but lean up against the garage door and
listen. They wouldn’t let the gremmies inside.
Mulu Iakopo (Bass guitar) was born in Samoa but grew up in
Garden Grove CA. This hard rocker was born a little too late to hear this
stuff on the radio. However, having older brothers, he did get his share of
surf music. Anyway, I figure his big brothers and surfing gave him his
supernatural surf music vib. This guy is still a hard rocker.
Dan Jette (Drummer/1st wave) is an original. Dan was playing
drums with a surf band called the Sextons when he was in high school. Dan has
two sons, both drummers. It must be really cool for them to watch their old
man tear it up.
Joe Winder (Guitar) joined up in 2004. Joe has roots in old
country, blues, big band, jazz and southern rock. This guy has been
around. He has played in many bands, Whiskey River and Ambrose, to name a
couple. Joe brings tasty rhythmic offerings and lead work that blend his
musical experience into the vintage and modern tones of
